About the Workshop
A Journey into Landscape: Developing the use of a sketch book, dynamic mark making and painting techniques with water colour and ink in landscape art.
This course follows on from the taster session in March where we began to explore a more playful approach to drawing, extending our experience of mark making media using a variety of drawing materials along with watercolour and ink. However, you do not need to have attended the taster to join us for this course.
You will learn techniques for creating interesting backgrounds and foreground detail, playfully trialing ways to sketch and record your journey using a sketch book. You will also learn some different approaches to composition and layout of your paintings. Because landscape is quite forgiving and there is less need for your compositions to be accurate, all the drawing in the course will be freehand. But please don’t worry about your drawing…
